This story is a Narrative, and is about if you lived in the time of the wild west in 1607 – 1920.
I woke up feeling the hot sun shining through the window of my wooden home. I got up, walked outside and gazed at the beautiful blue sky. I was ready to explore. With my musket in one hand and some berries in my pouch I scurried off into the forest.
As I walked through the forest the beautiful purple flowers were dancing in the sunlight, and the very tall trees were touching the clouds. I was enjoying nature with the birds singing and the wind flying through the air, until I heard a “wosh snap wosh snap” in the bushes. I loaded my musket, walked towards the bushes trying to see if anything was there. Nothing came out, so I pushed aside the branches of the bush.
“Howdy,” I said.
“Howdy,” Shouted a man back. “My name is Rehan, what is yours?”
“My name is Kalen,” I replied. “I see you getting some vittles.”
“Yup,” said Rehan.
“How did you get here?” I asked.
“I have a small hut nearby,” he replied.
“Are you going to hunt for vittles,” Rehan asked, wondering.
“I was planning to go explore, and see what all is out here, but I would also get some vittles along the way,” I replied.
“Can I go explore with you?” Rehan, asked.
“Sure!” I replied happily. “Head ’em up, move ’em out.” I said excitedly.
Me and Rehan walked further into the forest passing racoons, trees and leaves until something stopped us. There were big brown bears. With my heart beating like the rushing wind I looked to see if there was another path.
“Hey Kalen there is another path here,” Rehan said.
“Oh ya, let's go there,” I said frightened.
We marched and marched through the cold grass hoping that the bears wouldn't find us, and we stopped at a point when we found some vittles. We stopped and pulled some berries off of the bush and put them into our pouch. Rehan whispered to me as quietly as possible and said
“There is a deer over there eating grass”
I loaded my musket as quietly as I could and jumped behind a tree. I was getting ready to shoot the deer. I jumped out behind the tree and took a shot. The deer fell down on the cold grass.
“Hey Rehan, can you start a fire for the deer,” I asked hungrily.
“Sure,” said Rehan, also hungry.
Spark spark. While the deer was cooking. I sat on the bitter cold grass gazing at the starry night, and in about 10 minutes the deer was ready. Rehan and I sat on a tree stump and ate the deer.
“Delicious,” said Rehan.
“Yum” said Kalen.
By the time we were done eating there was pitch silence in the night.
“We should go home now,” said Kalen, but you can sleep in my house since yours is far away.
We marched and marched through the forest, exhausted and cold, and in about 20 minutes we were home. But when I went inside, there were scratch marks everywhere and all my supplies were gone. The only thing that was left was my blanket that my mother had made me, and a hat.
“It was probably the bears we saw earlier,” Rehan said.
“Ya”, replied Kalen.
“So we can just sleep on the floor,” I said, not happy.
“Ok” said Rehan, too exhausted to talk.
I layed down on the cold hard floor with Rehan next to me and we fell asleep.
